Washington, D.C. -- DC People’s Counsel Sandra Mattavous-Frye today joins the Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia in mourning the passing of former Chairman Marlene L. Johnson over the weekend. Johnson was Chairman of the Commission from 1995 to 1999. Mattavous-Frye states:
“Johnson led the PSC in the early days of my tenure at the Office of the People’s Counsel and I am well aware of the important role she played in critical decisions before the Commission. Her commitment to the residents of the District of Columbia extended beyond the regulatory arena, as Johnson also served in leadership positions with the DC Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, Office of Employee Appeals and the Washington Convention Center Authority.
“I am very appreciative of all that Attorney Johnson did for consumers in our city. My prayers and sympathies are with her family, friends, and associates.”
