OPC Encourages Consumer Participation in November DCPSC Community Hearings on Proposed WGL-AltaGas Merger (Formal Case No. 1142)

Dear Consumer,

The Office of the People's Counsel alerts the public that the DC Public Service Commission (DCPSC) has scheduled four community hearings on the proposed merger of WGL Holdings, Inc., the parent company of Washington Gas, and AltaGas Ltd, a Canadian-based utility company.

OPC believes community input is critical to the DCPSC in making a decision on the companies' merger application. OPC has provided testimony in opposition to the merger application, as filed, stating that it would not be in the public interest and would cause harm to District ratepayers. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Walk-ins also are allowed the day of the hearings.

In addition, written statements may be dropped off to the DCPSC at 1325 G Street NW, Suite 800, Washington DC 20005, or submitted through www.dcpsc.org.
