On September 15, 2017, OPC Consumer Services staff participated in DC’s presentation of International Park(ing) Day. PARK(ing) Day organizers say it is an annual, worldwide event where artists, designers, and citizens transform metered parking spots into temporary public parks. This year, OPC sponsored two locations, 2100 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE and at the corner of 14th and U Streets NW. Park(ing) Day promotes dialog around the use of green space and environmental awareness in urban settings.
OPC Consumer Services Division Manager Aaron Ward, and (Park)ing Day team leader Stephen Marencic, were joined by staff members Cheryl Morse, Silvia Garrick, and Jean Gross-Bethel to provide tips on OPC’s green initiatives and distribute copies of OPC’s informational rack card and Guide to Third Party Suppliers to hundreds of DC residents.
