On September 7, 2017, OPC Consumer Services Staff attended the “Information Seminar for First-Time Homebuyers” (Seminario Informativo para Compradores de Casa” held by the University Legal Services/Non-profit Housing Counseling program. Held at the Mt. Pleasant Neighborhood Library located at 3160 16th Street, N.W., OPC shared information with prospective homebuyers about the work of the Office and the availability of the OPC to assist with unforeseen utility challenges such as high utility bills, payment arrangements, or questions to ask about going solar in DC. getting assistance formOPC’s team of experts on energy efficiency and solar education and how to get assistance with investigation of credit reports as they related to utility company debt collection. Additionally, staying in-touch with updates on the current Washington Gas/Altagas proposed merger.
OPC consumer outreach specialist Silvia Garrick provided fliers on several current issues and shared OPC’s multilingual rack cards in English and Spanish.
